Margaret Catherine (Hedrick) Barham, 91, Independence, MO passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Memorial Services will be at 11am Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service beginning at 10am. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church or the Shriners Hospital for Children. Margaret was born November 26, 1924 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Ernest and Helen Roberta (Brown) Hedrick. Margaret lived most of her life in Independence, with the exception of a few years in the seventies and eighties, which she spent in the St. Louis area. She served several years as the City Clerk for the City of Glendale, MO. She was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Independence where she served as a Trustee and in various other volunteer positions. Margaret was also a member of the Independence Young Matrons and served on the board and as Treasurer of the Vaile Victorian Society. Margaret enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and participation in a variety of social groups. Margaret especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Hedrick. She was also proceeded in death by Don Richardson Barham, her loving husband of 66 years and by her special friend, Richard L. “Dick” Lewis. Survivors include her son, Craig Barham and his wife, Suzanne; daughter Melissa Frazier and her husband Bob of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Rebecca VanScoy, Lisa Rao, Nicholas Frazier, Jeffrey Frazier; and two great grandchildren, Joshua VanScoy and Kate McKnight.
