Anna J. Barker

August 13, 1950 — December 5, 2006

On December 5, 2006 I lost the love of my life and best friend after a long battle with cancer. Services will be 10am Saturday December 9, 2006 at Carson-Speaks Chapel with a Graveside service 3pm at the Deepwater Cemetery in Deepwater, MO. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday, December 8 at the chapel. Anna was born August 13, 1950 in Braymer, MO to Wayne and Ruby (Davis) States. Anna lived in most of her life in Independence graduating from William Chrisman High School. She worked at Yellow Freight Transportation for 22yrs as an EDI analyst. She was a loyal and trustworthy friend to all who knew her and always there for those in need. She was the backbone of the family, a loving wife and mother who has touched our hearts and souls. Anna enjoyed being at the lake surrounded by friends and family, singing kareoke, and crocheting doll clothes and baby blankets. She is survived by a large loving family that will miss her dearly, her husband James Barker of the home, her mother Ruby and step-father Walt Kramer of Independence, brother Tom States of Independence, two sisters, Beverly States of Canada and Carie Fisher of Grove, OK., two sons Shawn Donelson of Independence and Troy Donelson, four step-children Lisa Downey of Oklahoma, Donny Barker and Scott Barker both of Belton, and Shelly Winship of Gladstone. 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends that will forever be changed. Anna is preceded in death by her father, Wayne States, grandson Trenton Barker, and her grandparents. We are all honored and humbled to have been a part of her extraordinary life.
