Clara F. Barker, 82, of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at her residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel. Clara was born February 16, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Burton M. and Alice (Mombleau) Baker and has lived in Independence since 1962. She had worked as a nail technician and had owned and operated The Final Touch for a number of years. She enjoyed mystery novels and cooking. She is survived by; her husband of 56 years, Cecil of the home; 5 children, Carmella Swaim and husband Brian of the middle East, Cindy Hegarty and husband Mickey of Oak Grove, MO, Terry Barker, Cheri Barker Hunt; Christy Roberts and husband David and all of Independence, MO; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
