Frank P. Barker III passed away on May 30th, 2016 in his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with his wife Connie by his side. Frank’s true loves were friends and family, telling a good story, sharing words of wisdom and showing all how to genuinely have a good time. Frank was born in Santa Ana, California to Frank and Mona Barker. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri with his sisters Sue and Kathy and his brother Charles. Frank earned his BA from Tarkio College in 1968 then received his Dr. of Jurisprudence from the University of Toledo in 1971 while raising two daughters Kyle and Jenny. Frank returned to Kansas City where he practiced law for over 40 years. Frank was well respected by judges, clients, and peers in the Kansas City Legal community throughout his career. Frank married the love of his life Constance, on August 7, 1995 and they raised four children Katie, Allison, Jordan, and Connor. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Judge Frank P. Barker Jr. and Maujer Mosely Barker. He is survived by his loving wife Connie Barker, Katie Watkins Rosenquist and her husband Ross of Parkville, Mo., Allison Watkins of Kansas City, Mo., Jordan Watkins of Raytown, Mo., and Connor Watkins of Lee’s Summit, Mo., his daughters, Kyle Barker Sims and her husband Russ of Bedias, Tx., and Jenny Barker Osentoski and her husband Rick of Wayland, Mi., his five grand-children Conley Sims, Olivia Osentoski, Logan Osentoski, Averie Sims and Brinna Sims, his sisters Sue McCarter and her husband John of Charlotte, NC., Kathy Sims and her husband Pat of Charlotte, NC., his brother Charles Barker and his wife Miranda of New York, NY., and also many very special nieces and nephews. You will see Frank in those he loved. In his children and grandchildren you will see his smile and hear his laugh. You will see Frank in the stars on nights that you look up and think of his bright positive presence that he shared with those around him. You will see Frank in a fast car or hear him in the roar of a Harley rolling down the road. You may feel him in the water of the lake one weekend and smile. Frank’s friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on June 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The family will great guests from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
