Criss Douglas Barnes, 49, of Morrill, KS passed away, Saturday, October 11, 2003 at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be 1-2 pm Thursday, October 16, 2003 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will follow at 2pm at the chapel. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Criss was born December 30, 1953 in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Criss currently resided in Morrill, KS and previously lived in Kansas City, Independence and several years in CA. While living in California he worked in retail management and became acquainted with several TV and film stars. Mr. Barnes had served 4 years in the Air Force in Thailand and a 2-year term in the Navy on the USS Midway. Criss was a perpetual student. He had a Bachelor�s degree in Marketing and a Master�s degree in Leadership, both from Bellevue University in Nebraska. Mr. Barnes was currently employed as the Director of Marketing for Sac and Fox Casino in northeast Kansas and had previously worked for Harrah�s in Kansas City, Ameristar in Council Bluffs and Argosy Casino in Sioux City. Criss enjoyed swimming countless laps at the local YMCA. He was known for his ability to set a goal and achieve it through dedication and perseverance.
