Brian Barnum passed away at 12:11AM on January 30th, 2022. Brian was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 4th, 1970 to Betty and Stanley Barnum. Brian was the loving husband of his wife, Laura Barnum, of 30 years and doting father of his daughter Phoebe McAllister and her husband Gavin McAllister. He also had a brother and best friend in Wally Meierarend and sister Michele Binkley. He is survived by all. Brian graduated from Truman Highschool in 1988. In 1991 he received his bachelor's degree in Communications and Public relations from the University of Central Missouri where he also met his lovely wife. Brian’s passion was his family and friends. Nothing pleased him more than spending time with any of them. He never met a stranger and all the people in his life say they fell in love immediately. He was an exceptional part of the management team for the United States Postal Service until he retired in 2020. We feel all the team members he met and worked with along the way, he considered to be family. In his leisure time, Brian enjoyed hunting with his brother and friends, watching football and baseball with his family. He loved the science fiction worlds of Star Wars, Spiderman, and the Marvel Universe. The family wishes to thank relatives and friends locally and around the country for their prayers, thoughts, and caring support during Brian's valiant 5-and-a-half-year fight with colorectal cancer. His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 12th, 2022 from 2-4 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel at 18020 East 39th St S Independence MO 64055.
