Gregory Oliver Bartow, 55, passed away March 26, 2014 at his home in Knightdale, NC. Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 4 at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Greg was born in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Winnetonka High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for ten years, first as a nuclear technician in the submarine service. In 1987, he was honored as U.S. Navy Sailor of the Year. Following his service, he worked in the nuclear power industry and then for Smith-Kline, Glaxo Pharmaceuticals and traveled the world as a research and development training executive. In 2010 he was diagnosed with a disease which ended his working career. He had a strong belief in God and the Afterlife. Now his pain is gone and he is with his Master. Greg is survived by his wife of thirty-two years Edith Christine Bartow, of the home; mother Meredith Jones, Kansas City, MO; brother Doug Bartow, Blue Springs, MO; sister Merry Shryock; step-brother Thomas Jones; aunt Carol Bartow and father Mickey Bartow, both of Kansas City, MO. We have all been enriched by his presence on this earth.
