Caroline E. Barwise McBride passed away peacefully at John Knox Village Hospice on February 7, 2015. Caroline was born February 28, 1926 in Holden, MO, and lived in Independence, MO most of her life. She raised a family with husband James Dickensheets in Bonner Springs, KS until their separation in 1965. She later married L.J. McBride, with whom she spent many happy years. She retired from General Services Administration as a printing press operator. She was an avid gardener, an excellent seamstress, and a devoted mother, foster mother, and grandmother. She loved God, her family, her church family, and always found ways to serve others. She is preceded in death by all 6 of her siblings as well as James, L.J., and infant son Paul. She is survived by son Ray Dickensheets and wife Francie, daughters Donna Maginness and husband Steve, Anne Hadley, and Paula Zarrillo, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, as well as extended family members from her second marriage. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at New Walnut Park Community of Christ Church, 1137 S. Pearl St, Independence, MO 64050.
