Charlotte M. Buford Batchelor

Charlotte M. Buford Batchelor, 92 of Independence, MO died Friday January 26, 2007 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks chapel with burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the chapel from 1:00 p.m., until service time Monday.. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Charlotte was born December 13, 1914 in Phoebus, VA to John Agustus and Maude Ruby (Peterson) Meyer, She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School and worked as a bookkeeper for Woolworth Department Store from 1947 until her retirement in 1974. Charlotte enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, bowling, boating and water skiing, bird watching and flower gardening. She was a member of the Community of Christ Stone Church and was a member of the Ladies of Oriental Shrine of North America. She was married to Willard Buford from 1932, until his death in 1985. In 1987 she married Albert Batchelor, who survives. Other survivors include; a son, W. Dean Buford of Yuma, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Anna Marie Hurd, Toni Marie Buford and Dean K. "Rocky� Buford; 7 great grandchildren, Jennifer Malone, Emily Buford, Melanie Buford, Gage Gunn, Dustin Carabello Kayla Hoover, and Colton Hurd and 2 great great grandchildren, Madeline Malone and Charlotte Malone. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert Buford in 2006 and infant son Roderick Buford in 1936; 2 brothers, John Meyer and Robert Meyer, and a sister, Pearl Mitchell.
