Emma Lorene Bates
Emma Lorene Bates, 88, of Kansas City, Mo. died July 15, 2006 at St. Joseph Health Center. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond, Missouri. Emma was born on December 1, 1917 in Carrollton, Missouri the daughter of William L. and Eva Lou (Wiggins) Barker. Emma was a cook and baker for Stephenson�s Restaurant. She will be remembered as a great grandma who enjoyed her family and loved to play games. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and her involvement with T.O.P.S. Her great grandchildren will always remember the cakes she baked for them. She married Newell C. Bates in Lexington, Missouri in 1941. He died on August 8, 1968. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Wayne Bates who died in Viet Nam on August 16, 1967, by a great granddaughter Jackie Treccariche on January 1, 2000, and by five brothers and three sisters. Emma is survived by one daughter, Beverly Keller and her husband David of Kansas City, Mo., her grandchildren, Teri Treccariche of Kansas City, Mo., and David Steven Keller and his wife Vicky of Rowlett, TX.; great grandchildren, Jodi Jaggers and her husband Brandon of Kansas City, Mo., Sean Keller of Iraq, Phillip Keller, Christopher Keller both of Rock Wall, Tx. and Miranda Keller of Rowlett, TX. and two great great grandchildren, Christyan and Dominique Jaggers of Kansas City, Mo.
