Juanita Orlue Brown, Crabtree, Bates of Independence , MO passed away Oct 23, 2006 at the Rosewood Health Center. Juanita was born on Feb. 15, 1923 in Pontiac, MI and had lived most of her life in the Independence and Lee�s Summit Area, except for 8 years she spent in Montana before returning to this area in 1960. She was married to her first husband Martin Crabtree who passed away in 1969; she then married Arthur L. Bates who survives at there home in Rosewood at the Groves. Juanita worked for DCA-RLDS church owned rental agency before retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Spring Branch and then the Groves. She was the recorder for the church while in Montana and also at the Spring Branch Congregation. She and Art worked at the Lorrel club at the Auditorium for a number of years. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Daisy and Clarence Brown, one sister and a brother, Jasper Brown. She is survived by her husband Art. Three sons, William Martin Crabtree of Sedalia, MO., James Dale Crabtree of Camp Verde, AZ and George Albert Crabtree of Savage, MT. Two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Shott and Kay Phenegan of California. Ten grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Services will be 2:00 pm Fri. Oct. 27, 2006 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Indep. MO, with the family greeting friends from 1 - 2:00 pm. The Family suggests memorials to the Groves Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the Community of Christ Church.
