Mary Earleen Baxter, 88 of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2008 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Independence, MO. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Thursday at the church. Donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice or to St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Earleen was born May 28, 1920 in Grigsby, KS to Clarence and Mary (Huling) See. She moved to Independence at an early age and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1937. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member St. Ann’s Catholic Church and member of the Altar Society. She was married to James Baxter on May 28, 1942; he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 sons, Jerry Baxter of Kansas City, Mo, John Baxter of Sugar Creek, MO and Jim Baxter and his wife Pat of Oak Grove, MO; 2 daughters, Cheryl Heflin and husband Jim of Sugar Creek, MO and Mary Tebbs and husband David of Clearwater, FL; a sister, Jacqualyn Kolosick of Independence, MO; a sister-in-law, Clara Hart of Independence, MO; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
