Dora Mae Beachner, 82 of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Private burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Dora was born June 26, 1934 in Carrollton, MO to Paul Albert and Helen Kay (Ellis) Burnham. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed collecting antiques, storytelling and sharing her stories and mainly spending time with family and friends. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Linda York and husband Steve and Cindy Hefter and husband Alan of Independence, MO; 3 sons, Terry Moats and wife Phyllis of Flora, IL, Jerry Beachner and Doug Beachner both of Independence, MO; an extended family friend, Michelle Sutherland Brown; a brother, Paul Burnham of Nevada, MO; 3 sisters, Sharon Thompson Jacksonville, FL, Nita Burnham of Louisiana and Virginia Harper of Grain Valley, MO; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by; her parents, husband, Sherman G. Beachner and sisters, Opal Ryder, Mabel Spiegel and Pauline Burnham.
