Beatrice (Bea) Lee Morton, 75, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Centerpoint Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, with private burial to follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. There will be a rosary recited beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday followed by visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Bea was born August 19, 1948 in Elm Creek, Nebraska, to Antonio (Tony) and Theresa (Serroque) Fabela. She moved to the Kansas City area shortly thereafter and graduated from Northeast High School in 1967. She had worked throughout her life in the food service industry, but her true passion was her family and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Robert Morton of the home; a son, Jason Morton and his wife Tracey of Independence, Missouri; a daughter, Kimberley Morton of Los Angeles, California; four siblings - Eliseo Fabela, Carlos Fabela, Marcela Fabela and Mercedes Fabela - all of Kansas City, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Nathaniel Morton and Avery Morton.
