Clyde Edward Beatty, 66 of Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Clyde was born January 24, 1950 in Independence, MO to Edward Brian and Barbara Jean (LaGrece) Beatty. As a young man he moved with his family to Florida where he attended and graduated from public schools. He began his career at a carpenter in 1968 and worked for over 44 years until he retired in 2012 from the Carpenter’s Union local #1329. He enjoyed fishing, car shows, gun shows and watching the Lone Ranger. He was most proud of his involvement with Bluegrass music where he and his wife played in several bluegrass bands over the years. He was Baptist by faith and attended Eastside Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Teri of the home; his mother, Barbara Jean Beatty of Independence, MO; a daughter, Lori Walters and husband Jeff of Blue Springs, MO; a son, Brad Beatty of Independence, MO; a brother, Mark Beatty of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and 2 grandchildren, Alex and Josh Walters.
