Gilbert Ray Beatty, 42, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Sunday morning from injuries received in a car accident. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to the organization of the donor’s choice. Gilbert was born March 6, 1968 in Waco, TX to Stanley H. and Martha Pearl (Robinson) Beatty. He grew up in Texas and graduated from public schools there. After graduation he proudly served in the US Navy for 4 years during the Gulf War where he earned many citations for his service. He worked in food services and was currently employed by On The Border in Independence, MO. He enjoyed animals, music, where he belonged to several groups and quartets, cooking and mostly spending time with his children. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He is survived by; his mother, Martha P. Beatty of Lee’s Summit, MO; his father, Stanley Beatty of Austin, TX; a daughter, Kylie Beatty and a son, Brennan Beatty of Independence, MO; a brother, Chuck Beatty of Waco, TX; 2 sisters, Patty Standen of Austin, TX and Vicki Vogel of Ft. Worth, TX.
