Wayne Douglas Beavers, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023. He was 83 years old.
Wayne was born on February 16, 1940 to Lewis and Nancy Beavers in Squire, West Virginia. He attended and graduated from Tazewell High School, and participated in marching band as a drummer. This is also where he met the love of his life, Marty. On November 3, 1959, Wayne married Marty, and from their union came a son, Brian. That same year, Wayne enlisted in the Army and served for 3 years before being honorably discharged. Wayne went on to receive a higher education to become a master mechanic. In 1975, he and his family moved to Gladstone, Missouri, as he was looking to work as an aircraft mechanic. Wayne found a position at Volkswagen, where he would eventually retire as a master mechanic. Wayne had an impeccable sense of humor and had the natural ability to captivate and work a crowd with his keen jokes. When he wasn’t making people laugh, you could find him riding down roads on his motorcycle, hunting in the woods, or spending his time with his dear family. He treated his wife, Marty, as a queen and absolutely adored his son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Wayne would do anything for them, always making sure they were taken care of. He was a truly wonderful man who shared his light with others everywhere he went. He will be so dearly missed.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; Lewis and Nancy (Talley) Beavers, and his step-mother; Ellen. He is survived by his wife; Marty, his son; Brian (Rhonda) Beavers, his granddaughter; Marissa (Connor) Harris, his grandson; Bryce (Samantha) Beavers, his great-grandsons; Rhone Harris, Rhys Harris, and Rhett Harris, and his half-brothers; Tommy Beavers and Fred Beavers.
