Emma (Winegar) Beck, 86, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, March 08, 2005 at her home. Services will be 10 am Monday, March 14th at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave; with interment in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at the Chapel. Emma was born in Kittitas (Ellensbury County) WA to Stephen Alfred Winegar and Emma (Meinecke) Winegar. When she was seven months old the family moved to Shoshone, ID. At seven years old the family moved again to Twin Falls County, ID where she attended school. Emma was a member of the 4-H sewing club with exhibits each year in the County Fair. She loved music, organ, violin, and cello. She was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Serving in the Church as secretary, Sunday school teacher and women�s leader. During WW II she worked at Boeing Aircraft Co. in Seattle, WA. In Independence, MO she was a member of the Laurel Club, and drove a school bus for over 20 years. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Fern Nipper; brothers, Vernon, Stephen, Franz, and Howard Winegar. Her husband, Leonard R. Beck passed away in 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Huntsucker and husband William, Mona Kirk and husband Bill both of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Kathryn, Susan, Jane, Leonard, Stephen, Shelly, John, David, Marci, and Heather; six great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Lemmon and husband George of Hagerman, ID, and Doris Neff of Soda Springs, ID; brother Floyd Winegar of WA; and many nieces and nephews.
