Zelene Beck, 65, of Buckner MO, passed away on Christmas. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00p.m. Sunday, December 30th 2012 at Speaks Buckner Chapel; 300 Adams, Buckner, MO. Funeral Service will be 10:00a.m. Monday December 31st at Heart of God Fellowship; 3720 North Buckner Tarsney Road, Buckner. Burial will be at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Zelene was born October 2nd, 1947 in Rogersville, MO to William Roscoe and Lily Fern Smith; one of eight children. She graduated from Fort Osage High School. She later married husband Bob Beck (47 years), together, they had four children. Zelene was crafty, and loved to garden rose bushes. She grew to love and appreciate her husband’s Native American culture. As a “tomboy” she enjoyed fishing, boating and target practice. She could outshoot any one of her brothers. Zelene also read western and mystery novels. Above all she never met a stranger. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Zelene is survived by her husband Bob, of the home; sons, Clinton Beck of Independence, MO; and William Beck of Adrian, MO; daughters, Trina Beck (Scott) of Norfolk, NE; and Jewel Beck (Allen) of Buckner, MO; four grandchildren, Tina, Gregory, Ashley, and Dalton; one great grandson; and her siblings: brothers, James (Nina) Smith; Bill (Karrie) Smith; Dean (Tammy) Smith; Dale (Renee) Smith; Terry (Dawn) Smith; sisters, Varena (Roy) Manion; and Rosela (David) Kovac; sister-in-law, Sharon Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Vic Smith.
