Judith Anne Beckett, 69 of Independence, MO passed away, Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her residence.
Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052 with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Independence School District Atten: homeless student services, 201 N. Forest Avenue, Independence, MO 64050.
Judith was born February 13, 1944 in Kansas City, MO to Albert C. and Mary L. (Brown) Davis and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from East High School in 1962. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed dancing, music and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the RLDS church and had volunteered for Odyssey Hospice. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #21, Women’s Civic Club of Independence, MO, the Moose Lodge #10 in Sugar Creek and the East High School Reunion Committee. She was married to Ralph Beckett on November 22, 1963; he survives of the home.
Other survivors include; a son, Todd Beckett and wife Rhonda of Kearney, MO; a daughter, Barbara Dodson and husband Jim of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Shirley Lonkouski of Houston, TX and Betty Gamblin of Excelsior Springs, MO; four grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Beckett, James Dodson, Jr. and Katie Lampson; two great grandchildren, Gabby and Gracy Lampson and numerous half and step siblings of the Jobst and Presley families.
