Anna Lee (Alderman) Beem, 93, passed away April 9, 2016. She was born on Sept.16, 1922, in Jefferson City, MO, to the late Melvin and Edna (Gray) Alderman and raised as a child of the Great Depression. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1940 and attended the Kansas City Business School. She retired from the Raytown Bank in 1978. During WWII she was a “Rosie” riveting airplanes in a defense plant. She was a member of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.
She married Charles Clifford Beem who preceded her in death in 1985. Also, Anna was predeceased by two sisters- Mary Louise, wife of Virgil Overton and Betty Jean, wife of William Holt. A son, The Rev. Charles L. Beem (wife, Jacqueline), two granddaughters (Jennifer Baer and Kathleen Jackson), and two great granddaughters, (Emma and Yvette), survive her.
Services will be held at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10 a.m. with visitation from 9-10 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Washington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Blue Ridge Blvd. United Methodist Church, KCMO 64133.
