Bobbie Beemer

April 23, 1932 — December 17, 2015

Bobbie Jo Beemer, 83, passed away December 17, 2015. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 2:00pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. in Independence, with visitation an hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Washington Cemetery.

Bobbie was born on April 23, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, to Clyde Vernon and Mildred (Atkinson) Reno. She graduated from East High School in the class of 1949. She was introduced to John Beemer by her aunt in a restaurant in 1950; they married 2 weeks before he left for Korea in 1952. Together they raised two sons. Bobbie worked for AT&T, Dodd’s Bakery, as well as the Jones Store Co. She and John were also members of Rockwood Baptist Church. She loved to create crafts and ceramics, as well as flower arranging and decorating Christmas ornaments. She was President of her sons’ PTA and organized carnivals and other fundraisers for the school. Her family remembers her as artistic and creative, as well as a wonderful caretaker.

Bobbie is survived by her husband and best friend of 63 years, John; sons, Craig and Mark; and grandchildren, Ashley, John Ryan, Justin, Kyle, and Robert. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Reno.
