Donald Dean Beemer, 85, of Liberty Missouri, was called home to the loving arms of our heavenly Father on September 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Lois Hesselbarth. He is survived in death by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Beemer, of the home; son, Brent Beemer of Kansas City Mo; daughter, Summer Oehlke (Jason) of Grain Valley, Mo; and two grandchildren, Josiah and Eva Oehlke. He is also survived in death by his brothers: Royce Beemer (Beverly) of Wichita KS; and Bob Beemer (Wanda) of Topeka, KS.
Don was born on March 16, 1936 to Earl and Lois (Hesselbarth) Beemer. He graduated, in 1955, from Americus High School. During his high school years, he enjoyed playing basketball and helped lead his team to many victories. After high school, he joined the Army and was a Specialist 4th Class.
Don met his beloved wife Carolyn Parton, and the two of them were united in marriage on December 7, 1963. They went on to have two precious children, Brent and Summer. Don worked hard for many years as a truck driver for Allied Systems. He worked hard to provide for his family and give them what they needed and more. Even after retiring from Allied, he decided he still wanted to stay busy and took a part time job with Enterprise. This part time job became a second career, as he worked there for almost 15 years.
Don was also active in church for many years. He was one of the founding members of Rose of Sharon PCG Church and served faithfully for over 35 years; then, served at Kansas City Church for over 15 years. Many children were driven to church each and every Sunday because Don faithfully served in the bus ministry. Don’s faith was the driving factor in everything he did as a husband, father, grandfather, and employee. Don loved his kids with everything in him. While growing up, he loved watching Brent play the drums and piano, and enjoyed coaching Summer's elementary basketball teams. He was so proud of his grandkids. He was josiah's favorite fishing buddy and loved hanging out with Eva and her horses.
Don’s kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He loved strong and lived his faith each and every day, starting each morning with his Bible in his hand reading the words of God. He fought the good fight and didn’t give up or in, his will to live was seen in everything he did.
Services for Donald will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Kansas City Church with the visitation starting at 10:00 AM and the service at 11:00 AM.
