John Leroy Beemer, 84, of Blue Springs, MO passed away April 29, 2016 at his home. John was born on January 5, 1932 to Roy Burton and Mary Margaret (Phillips) Beemer in Kansas City, MO. He was a lifelong area resident. He attended William Chrisman High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. On September 27, 1952 he was united in marriage to Bobbie Jo Reno in Nevada. After his discharge from the U.S. Navy, he started a long career in the HVAC industry retiring with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church and The Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 2. He is survived by his two sons, Craig Beemer of Grain Valley, MO and Mark Beemer of Kansas City, MO, a granddaughter, Ashley Beemer, grandsons, John, Justin, Kyle, and Robert and a cousin, Charlene Keller of Oak Grove MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 63 years Bobbie Jo in 2015, his sister, Irene Remington in 1981 and his brother Bill Beemer in 2001. Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Mo 64052. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. at the chapel. He will be laid to rest in Mount Washington Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Alzheimer’s Association.
