Diana Lynn Bell (Giffen)

October 20, 1950 — September 24, 2021

Diana Lynn (nee’ Giffen) Bell, of Independence, Mo passed away peacefully in her home on September 24, 2021. She was 70 years old.

She was known for her humbleness and loved for her generous heart. Diana was born on October 20, 1950, to Everett H, and Dorothy L. Giffen. She was raised in Independence, Mo and graduated from William Chrisman High School with the class of 1968.

As a frame attendant, Diana worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 30 dedicated years before retiring in 2006.

Diana truly loved her family and was a wonderful mother to Mick and Jeff. Her family knew her as a quiet, determined and hard-working woman, who was never afraid to express her opinion from time to time.
Diana enjoyed her love of Maxine cartoons, as she would send them to her family. Receiving a surprise Maxine cartoon in the mail always brightened your day. Every morning, she would drink her coffee from one of her many Maxine coffee cups, while sitting in her favorite rocking chair.

Diana loved flowers and would often have them growing in her garden. She was known for her sappy sense of humor and contagious laugh. Quilting was a favorite hobby, as she made sure each of her grandchildren had a quilt. She loved to take her grandchildren to the Kansas City Renaissance Fair in Kansas.
Holidays were a favorite time of year as Diana loved to bake. Family and friends looked forward to her delicious pumpkin bread, banana bread and famous peanut butter balls.

Diana’s generosity was felt by all who visited her home. She made sure you always had something to eat. And when her granddaughter’s friends came to visit, it was a safe place to chat, hang out, and were well fed.
Diana is survived by her two sons, Mick (Kimberly) Bell, Jeff Bell, and her grandchildren, Harlee, Lane, Shelby, and Monte. She is also survived by her siblings, Gloria (Danny) Dobbins, Kirk (Kathy) Giffen, and preceded in death by her brother Brian and her parents, Everett H. and Dorothy Lee (nee’ Struewe) Giffen.
Diana’s love of life and her love for her family will truly be missed.

Cremation is planned with no formal services at this time.
