Nicholas L. “Nick” Bell, 58, of Orrick, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 13, 2018. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 19th from 6-8pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20th at 10:00am at Blue Hills Baptist Church, 1805 N Blue Mills Rd., Independence, MO 64058. Nick was a loving son, husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. He was a hardworking man of all trades with a heart of the purest gold. Nick was born July 24, 1960. He graduated from Truman High School in 1979, where he played basketball and football. In his younger years, he worked for his family’s business, Bell Pest Control. After many years of being a heavy equipment operator, he and his wife, Cristi, started a business of their own, which became known as Mar-Bel Laser Engraving and Fine Wood Art. Nick’s passion was wood-working, hunting, fishing, AC/DC, and playing Santa Claus for his grandchildren every Christmas. He loved the Chiefs, Royals, Nascar, and most importantly, his family; especially his grandchildren and fur-babies. Nick is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard and Gladys Bell and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Etha Danforth. He is survived by his parents, John and Elaine Bell; his brothers, Marty (Sherrie) Bell and Tony Bell, all of Independence, MO; his wife of the home, Cristi Bell of Orrick, MO and his six children, Katie Ring of Independence, MO; Cody (Morgan) Marsch of Excelsior Springs, MO; Christopher (Nicole) Craine of Liberty, MO; A.J. Craine of Liberty, MO; Dillion (Hope) Craine of Excelsior Springs, MO; and Harley (William) Martin of Excelsior Springs, MO and his eight grandchildren, Korby, Shelby, Hunter, Alayna, Harrison, Gryffin, Camren, and Sadie. Nick was loved and will be missed by many.
