Roy V. Bellis, 67 of Independence, MO, passed away on January 18th of 2022 after Covid complications.
Roy was born on May 10th, 1954 to MaryAnn Duvall Bellis and Ellis Glen Bellis in Kansas City, Missouri. After Roy graduated from Odessa High School in 1972, he went on to join the Army and served until 1978.
After serving in the military, he worked for Bayer Chemicals for 7 years and finished his technical degree in Drafting. He spent the next 32 years working for Time Warner Cable and retired in 2019.
In 1978, Roy met the love of his life, Corleen at Puddle Jumpers in Odessa, Missouri. Roy and Corleen had 2 children.
Roy loved being outdoors. He was always taking his kids and grandchildren boating and camping. He loved his ice cream and feeding it to the dog afterwards. He loved giving hugs and kisses while scratching you with his scruff.
Roy was preceded in death by his mom, MaryAnn and dad, Glen. He is survived by his wife, mother-in-law, 4 children, 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers, as well as numerous extended family.
A private celebration of life to honor Roy will be held for the family.
In Roy’s memory, the family suggests donations to be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110.
