Carson Benton

Carson Lee Benton, 75, of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on October 23, 2012 with his family by his side. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to Home Instead Senior Care Foundation 13323 California St., Omaha, NE 68154. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Blue Springs Cemetery. Carson was born on January 26, 1937 in Robinson, Kansas. Carson was the second of three children. Even as a child, Carson was extremely thoughtful and would frequently run in from playing to make sure everything at home was okay. Carson was a very loved and loving child as well as a caring son to his mother, Florence, throughout her life. Carson graduated from East High School. After high school he worked for 17 years at Dart Transit Company as a drafter. Upon retiring from Dart, Carson started his own successful residential construction company, C.L. Benton Construction. As a master builder, carpenter and skilled business owner, Carson left his mark in the community with many fine built and remodeled homes. In his free time, Carson enjoyed skiing, bowling and traveling with his family. Carson was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Roberta Benton. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Donna Pfannenstiel Benton of Blue Springs, MO; his brother Terrance Benton of London, England; his niece Kim Jones (Herb Jones) of Grain Valley, MO; his children, Michelle Brunell (Kristine Wright) of Prairie Village, KS and Brian Brunell (Kerri Brunell) of Pleasant Hill, MO; six grandchildren and many loving cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Carson will be remembered as a kind and loving man, always generous with his time and willing to help out his family and friends whenever he could. Carson was well loved and will be greatly missed.
