Larry F. Bernard, 67, of Grain Valley, MO passed away June 7, 2014. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at Floral Hills Cemetery. Larry was born December 7, 1946 in Wheatland, MO to Wilbur M. and Chloe F. Bernard of Adrian, MO. He attended Lee’s Summit High School and graduated with the class of 1964. Larry is well known in the Kansas City metro area in the car wash industry. His hobbies included woodworking and computers. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted Bernard; two sisters, Patricia Zimmerman and Betty Edde; and sister-in-law, Donna Bernard. He is survived by son, Chris Bernard and wife Tiffany; daughter, Angela Bernard-Lammert and husband Brian; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Beshears and husband Justin, Jonathan Anderson and fiancé Caitlin Devine, Justin Boxley, Brittany Bonine and husband Kaylon, Shaina Lammert and Keving Lammert; great grandchildren, Skyelar Beshears, Miles Beshears, Dixie Beshears, Payton Bonine, Reagan Bonine and Gavin Lammert; brother, Gayles Bernard; sister, Louise Hobbs and husband Wayne; brother-in-law, Rudy Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Neva Bernard; long time companion, Lavita Smelser; stepdaughters, Jessica Stevens and Melinda Johnson; as well as multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
