Bertha Elizabeth McMinn, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on March 25, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. Born on July 12, 1944, to Charles and Doris Meiers in Texas, Bertha was a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew her.

After graduating from William Chrisman High School, she dedicated her career to serving as a Title Abstractor Searcher, eventually working for Alpha Title Company. Bertha poured her heart and soul into her work, and it was with pride that she continued until her retirement in 2023. Her dedication and meticulousness will be remembered by her colleagues and cherished in the memories of the many people she assisted during her career.

Bertha's vibrant spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was a woman of many passions. She enjoyed the thrill of bowling and the excitement that came with gambling, always playing with a smile on her face. Bertha had a special love for sports, and she never missed an opportunity to cheer for her favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.

She shared a deep bond with her family, especially with her husband, Larry McMinn, and their son, John McMinn. They were her pride and joy, and she cherished the moments spent together, creating precious memories that they will remember for years to come. Bertha was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Charles and Doris Meiers; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Burton; and daughter-in-law, Susie McMinn.

A graveside service to honor Bertha's life will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Buckner Hill Cemetery, 1450 S Buckner Tarsney Rd, Buckner, MO.
