Beverly Jean Gant, a beloved homemaker and pillar of her family, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, in Blue Springs, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 30, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri, one of three children to Henry and Helen Kirkham.
Beverly's passion for family was evident throughout her life, as she devoted herself to raising five wonderful children who became the heart of her existence. Her selfless nature and unwavering love were primary components of the warm memories that will linger with her loved ones. She found great joy in spending Thanksgiving and Christmas activities. An all-time favorite at the family farm was playing a good game of dodgeball after the Thanksgiving feast. Mom and Dad were always looking on with great pride seeing all the grandkids participating in the fun. Creating cherished traditions that filled her home with laughter and love. Each Christmas Eve, her family would gather, filled with excitement as they anticipated waking up to presents and the delicious breakfast feast that Beverly carefully prepared; an experience that embodied the spirit of family and togetherness. Beverly was also a very good seamstress making many of her children’s clothes growing up. She loved to sew, beyond making clothes, she made curtains, Christmas Holiday place mats, runners and all kinds of decorations for the holidays.
Beverly graduated from North Kansas City High School and went on to embrace her dream life, which she often reflected upon with joy. A loving and nurturing figure, she took great pride in her home and family. She dedicated herself to creating a nurturing environment that fostered growth and happiness for her children and grandchildren.
Beyond her devotion to family, Beverly found solace and fulfillment in her hobbies and interests. She had a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending time on her farm, riding horses on trails, and immersing herself in reading Missouri conservation and other magazines. Music was also a significant part of her life; she found happiness in listening to Irish, gospel, and country western tunes, which often accompanied the stories she told about her life and adventures.
A proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Beverly's legacy will certainly live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her loving spirit and warm personality touched all who knew her. Beverly is survived by her children, Terry (Karl) Olsen, John (Tammy) Gant, Marcy (Warren) Brehm, Larry (Kyla) Gant, Tim (Melissa) Gant; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Lorna) Kirkham; extended family and dear friends. She is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Jack Gant (John); parents, Henry Alfred Kirkham, and Helen Kiehl Kirkham; sister, Arlene Luttrell.
Her farewell services will take place on December 14, 2024, at Mount Washington United Methodist in Independence, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Oakland Cemetery, Buckner, Missouri, following services.
Beverly Jean Gant will forever be remembered for her genuine affection, her selfless nature, and for living a life that truly reflected her dreams. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and treasured memories that will remain in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
