Beverly H. Gardner

Beverly H. (Highberger) Gardner, age 94, a resident of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on December 13, 2024 at her residence.

Beverly was born the daughter of Michael C. and Leona E. Highberger on November 8, 1930, in Lake City, Iowa. She was a 1948 graduate of Paseo High School, Kansas City, Missouri. After graduation, she worked for Prudential Insurance Company in downtown Kansas City. She then began her career at Burns and McDonnell until her retirement. Beverly was united in marriage to Ollie F. Gardner, Jr. on December 27, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1977. She was a member of Our Lady of the Presentation Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri. 

Survivors include one son, Michael S. Gardner and wife April of Raymore, Missouri, and Patricia A. Medlin of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Christine L. VanLeeuwen of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and five grandchildren, Mindy Carreras and husband Ed of Mont Joy, PA, Lindsay Gardner of Urich, Missouri, Hilary Elmore and husband Micah of Raymore, Missouri, and Nicholas Medlin of Raytown, Missouri; and seven great grandchildren, Joey and Steven Carraras; Alexis Gardner, David Quigg (Jessica Quigg), Brooke Quigg; Payton and Caeden Elmore, and one great great grandchild Giovani Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Leona Highberger; husband, Ollie Gardber; brother, Barney Highberger; and sister, Carol Collins.

A Rosary will take place at 9:30 AM on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Our Lady of the Presentation Church located at 130 NW Murray Rd, Lee's Summit, Missouri 64081. This will be followed by a Visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Beverly Gardner will be inurned at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church to support ministries Beverly was involved in. Donations may also be made to Hope House.
