Theresa Biber (Guthrie)

Theresa Biber, 88, Independence, MO passed away July 28, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Wed. Aug. 1 at St. James Catholic Church, 309 S. Stewart Rd., Liberty, MO 64068; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm, Tuesday followed by visitation until 8 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. The family requests contributions to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home, 2115 Maturana Drive, Liberty, MO 64068.
Theresa was born June 10, 1930 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from the Glennon Academy. She worked at Sandwich U. on the Square in Independence in the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s. In 1987 she went to work at Truman Medical Center Lakewood until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a Girl Scout Leader, enjoyed crocheting and family camping.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband George Biber, infant son Joseph Biber, brother Mike Guthrie, sister Judy Tadlock, brother-in-law Don Lynn, great-granddaughter Zoey Swisher and son-in-law Charlie Eakins. She is survived by daughters Pamela Gooch and husband Gary, Excelsior Springs, MO; Cindy Jenkins and husband Dave, Gladstone, MO; Mary Cleveland, Monterey, CA; Connie Scassellati and husband Joe, Liberty, MO; sister Sandra Lynn, Blue Springs, MO; brother Tom Guthrie and wife Dorothy, Shawnee, KS; sister-in-law Anna Guthrie, Blue Springs, MO: fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
