Gus J. Billiuris, 82 of Independence passed away Mon. Jan. 1, 2007 at Research Medical Center. Services will be 11:00 am, Thu. Jan 4, 2007 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 613 S. Main St. Indep. MO with the visitation preceding from 10-11:00 pm. Burial in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Contributions are suggested to Messiah Lutheran Church. Mr. Billiuris was born on Jan 20, 1924 to John and Elizabeth Billiuris in Courtney, MO and has lived in the Independence area most of his life. Mr. Billiuris had been a Molder with Prier Brass Manufacturing Company for almost 30 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening especially Tomatoes and vegetables, which he shared with his church family and friends. Gus proudly served his country during WWII in the US Marines and also from 1948 - 1950 in the US Army. He was a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church and had served as Elder for many years. Mr. Billiuris is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Billiuris of Independence. A daughter, Sharon Meyer and husband David of Independence; One brother, George Billuris of San Jose, CA and a sister, Evelyn Wolfe of Cleveland, OH. Three grandchildren Angela Shanholtzer, Carey Cubas, Rodney Meyer and six great grandchildren.
