Billy Ray "Bill" Helm passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on March 7, 1938, in Independence, Missouri to Jack and Mary (Rigg) Helm.
Bill was a man of many passions and hobbies that filled his life with joy. An avid stock car racing enthusiast, he could often be found cheering for his favorite drivers both on the track and from the comfort of his living room. Fishing brought him a profound sense of peace, where he would often spend afternoons casting lines into tranquil waters. In his youth, he enjoyed playing at the baseball and softball fields, where his competitive spirit shone brightly, and friendships blossomed.
Beyond his personal pursuits, Billy found camaraderie and community as a proud member of the Moose Lodge, where he connected with fellow members. His involvement in the lodge enriched his life and fostered long lasting bonds.
Billy's legacy will be honored at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation held on March 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 2pm with interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
