Ethel Ann Bilyeu, 75, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007 surrounded by her family. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. Entombment in Mt. Washington Mausoleum. Ethel was born August 9, 1931 in Independence, MO to Ray Francis and Hattie Estelle (Bowers) Pearl. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1949. Ethel was a bookkeeper most of her life, retiring from Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co. in 1995. Mrs. Bilyeu was very proud of her family. Her most treasured times included spending time with her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ethel is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Bilyeu; daughters Vickie Wright, Glenda Eastwood, Cheryl Sherwood; son David Bilyeu; brother Fred Pearl; four grandchildren Shelly Black, Eshelle Aumua, Lindsey Wright and Jaycee Eastwood; three great-grandchildren and a fourth due in July; three nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother Opal Pearl; brother John Pearl. Ethel will be dearly missed by all of her family and longtime friends. The family expresses a sincere thank you to all who visited Ethel during her final days.
