David Vernon Binger, 79, of Independence, Mo passed away October 27, 2003 at the Rosewood Health Care Center. Services will be 1:30 pm Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 -8:30 pm Wednesday at the Chapel. The family suggest contributions to the Stone Church Endowment Fund. David was born on December 15, 1923 to Charles and Jessie (Garland) Binger in Independence, MO where he remained a life long resident. Mr. Binger served our Country in WWII earning 3 Bronze Stars while serving in Normandy, North France, and Rhineland with the Battery A 519th AAA Gun Battalion. After returning home Mr. Binger returned to finish his education and received his Nursing Home Administrators License. Mr. Binger owned and operated several nursing homes in the area including the Binger Home and the Warrensburg Nursing and Health Care Center. He was a devote member of the Community of Christ, serving as Elder in several congregations including the Stone Church, the Englewood Congregation. He also served as Pastor for Resthaven. Mr. Binger was a member of the American Legion, Kiwanis, Boy Scout Troop 205, and the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He also enjoyed coaching baseball. He was a devoted father and husband. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Gladys of Independence, 2 daughters; Linda Craig, and Louise Binger; 2 sons, David Binger, Daniel (Brenda) Binger, all of Independence; 1 brother Charles Binger of Forsythe, Mo and 1 sister Carol (Marvin) Shuler, 8 grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, and his beloved dog Princess.
