Bonita J. Bishop, 78, Independence, MO, passed away unexpectedly Dec. 18, 2012. Cremation. Services will be private. The family requests contributions to the American Heart Assoc., Greater Kansas City Chapter, 6800 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, KS 66212.
Bonita was born Jan. 31, 1934 in Booneville, MS. She had lived in Independence, MO for fifty-four years. She was a Sprint relay operator before retiring in 1999. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was most happy when surrounded by her family.
Bonita was preceded in death by sister Delores. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years Earl D. Bishop, of the home; son Keith Bishop and wife Susie, Marshall, MO; daughters Sharon Davis and husband Tim, Aurora, CO; Lynn Rogers and husband Craig, Blue Springs, MO; son Kent Bishop and wife Tracey, Rogersville, MO; brothers Dale Massey and wife Pauline, Tupelo, MS and Larry Massey and wife Jimmy, Houston, TX.
