Margaret Ann Black of Independence, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Carmel Hills Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:45 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, July 21, 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 East 39th Street, Independence, Missouri 64055. A rosary will precede the visitation at 5:30 p.m. Margaret was born October 8, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to John J. and Anna M. (Hilbert) Battor and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed family, friends and her involvement with St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands; A. Harlan Black and Frank L. Collins; her sister and three brothers. Margaret is survived by a daughter, Virginia Gillespie; two sons, Frank Collins and David Black; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and her brother Richard Battor.
