Opal L. “Pat” Blake, 85 of Raytown, MO passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to noon Friday at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Donations may be made in her name to the Kansas City Hospice House 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145. Pat was born December 18, 1926 in St. Benedict Saskatchewan, Canada to Russell L. and Marjorie (Kohn) Miller and moved to Independence, MO at and early age graduating from East High School. She moved to Clinton, MO and spent many years there before moving back to Independence. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing bridge and dancing. She was a member of the Fairmount Christian Church and former member of the DAR. She was married to Eugene Blake, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 23, 2002. Survivors include; a son, Dennis Blake and his wife Susan of Crystal Lake, IL; a brother, O.J. Miller of North Kansas City, MO; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eugene Blake, Jr., one brother and a sister.
