THELMA DORIS BLANK
Thelma Doris Blank, 89, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 18 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Doris was born Dec. 3, 1920 in Jackson County, MO to J. Frank and Muriel Agnes (Hoover) Winfrey. She graduated from Buckner High School and CMSU obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree. She was an educator in the Kansas City school district for 35 years prior to her retirement in 1979. Doris was a lifelong active and faithful member of the Independence Seventh Day Adventist Church. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Blank; sisters Melba Muriel Winfrey and Ruth Helen Johnson; and daughter in law Brenda Blank. She is survived by her sons Ronald Blank of Edgewater, FL and Terry Blank and wife Margaret of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren Jennifer Bradshaw and Brandon Blank; and a host of nieces and nephews.
