David Ellis Blann

David E. Blann, 74, of Buckner, MO, passed away, Thursday, February 28th, 2019. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 6th from 12:00-2:00pm with a funeral service following at 2:00pm, both at Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams, Buckner MO 64016.
Burial will take place at Buckner Hill Cemetery in Buckner, MO.
David was bom March 11, 1944, in Kansas City, MO to Clyde and Wilma (Jackson) Blann and has lived in the area all his life. He graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1962. David was employed for over 30 years for MO Public Services, most recently as a plant operator in Sibley. He was a member of the IBEW Union and was also a member of the Church of Christ. David was married to Carol Shropshire on October 2, 1964 until her passing in October of 2003. He is survived by two sons, Ray Blann of Independence, MO and John Blann of Buckner MO; a daughter, Kathy Smith of Higginsville, MO; 9 grandchildren an d 2 great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made in David’s honor to Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Institute.
