Samuel A. Blasco, 85, Independence, MO passed away on October 2, 2005. A visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Indep. MO. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the chapel, with burial at Johnson Co. Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. Sam was born on November 25, 1919 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Minnie Blasco. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1937 and in 1961 received a bachelor�s degree in finance from SMU. From 1938-1971, he worked for United Missouri Bank, rising from a messenger to Senior Vice President. Sam went on to work from 1972-1977 at the Mark Plaza State Bank, which he chartered and became President. From 1977-1998 he held various positions at other financial institutions. Sam was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Helen E. Blasco. He is survived by his one son, Harry Blasco; two daughters, Connie Mize and Kathie Martin; one sister, Mary White; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
