Billy Lawrence Bloss, 85 of Buckner, MO passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the Kansas City VA Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO 64016. Burial with full military honors will be in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Donation may be made in his name to the First Christian Church of Buckner 126 S. Hudson St., Buckner, MO 64016. Billy was born April 30, 1937 in Cameron, MO to Lawrence and Gladys (Neff) Bloss. He spent his early life on the family farm outside of Cameron, graduating from Cameron High School in 1955. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served from 1955-59. During his time in the Navy he met and married Margaret Ruth Lampkin in 1957. They had 4 children together Gerald, Billy, Debbie and Ronald. They were married 18yrs divorcing in 1975. Bill took a manager’s position at the grocery store in Buckner, Mo where he met Jane Kindle. “don’t tell anyone her name is Margaret too!!” They married on March 23rd 1975. Bill took on the responsibility of raising Rhonda, Rodney, and Rance. Bill wore many hats in his professional life from produce manager to owner of ABS Motors but his happiest time was hauling scrap metal and cars. He loved talking to people about everything but mostly about Jesus and scrapping allowed him to reach and touch many lives. He was an elder of the First Christian Church of Buckner and served as a city Alderman for several years in Buckner. His passion for music had him always singing. He played at the KC Opry for 4 years in Excelsior Springs and his band Billy B and the Moonlighters played in several halls, bars and events. He later formed Billy B and the Sunlighters to play at church and gospel events. He is survived by; his wife, Margaret “Jane” Bloss of the home; 6 children, Gerald Bloss of Phoenix, AZ, Billy Joe Bloss of Lawson, MO, Ronald F. Bloss of Warsaw, MO, Rhonda Jane Greer and her husband John of Kansas City, MO, Rodney Lee Kindle and wife Rende and Rance Eathan Kindle both of Buckner, MO; 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Deborah Sue Brown, a grandchild, Ethan Vance Kindle, a brother, Jack D. Bloss and a sister, Shirley Dilley.
