Shirley Blystone, 82, of Independence, MO passed away May 3, 2017.Visitation will be from 9-10am Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Services will follow at 10am at the chapel. Burial will take place in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Shirley was born on July 14, 1934 in Sheldon, Missouri. She moved to the Independence area with her parents, Victor and Margaret (Wright) Rinehart, in 1946 and attended William Chrisman High School. In 1949 she married the love of her life, Charles Blystone. Together they enjoyed antiquing, working in the garden, and most importantly spending time with their family. They were long time members of Rockwood Baptist Church where Shirley sang in the choir and for special events. She also enjoyed sewing and making samplers. Shirley was a very caring and giving person, frequently donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Isreal My Glory. Survivors include; husband Charles Blystone; daughter Dianna Pugh; son David Blystone; brother Jerry Rinehart; grandsons Cory Blystone, Jamie Blystone, Brandon Blystone, and Chad Pugh; great grandchildren Ashleigh Slover, Kayla Brown, Jimmy Blystone, Dylan Blystone, Kaylee Blystone, and Jackson Blystone; a large extended family and many friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice or the Charity of your choice.
