Donna Jean Bodamer (Leonard)

Donna Jean Bodamer, 96, Independence, MO formerly of Boonville, MO, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Johnna and Kevin Wingate in Independence March 8, 2022.
She was born July 10, 1925 to Gladys and Ernest Leonard in Fairbury, NE. She graduated from Fairbury High School. She graduated From Life Bible College in Los Angeles CA. She embarked on a carrier in the ministry. She went back to school at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO, and earned her teaching degree. She began teaching in a rural one room school in the Hocker School District outside of Fayette, MO. She then began teaching in the Boonville Schools. Upon retiring from there she began working for Edward Jones. Needless to say, she believed in hard work.
Donna married Arther Bodamer who predeceased her. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Boonville. She loved her church.
Her family is grateful for the love and care she received from Good Shepherd Hospice.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Arther Bodamer, a daughter-in-law Kitty Meyer, a granddaughter Alicia Meyer, and a great grandson Justice Wingate. Survivors include son Don (Terry) Meyer, Springfield, MO; son Mike (Fannie) Meyer, Independence, MO; and daughter Johnna (Kevin) Wingate, Independence, MO; grandsons Jeff Meyer, Columbia, MO; Michael (Jessica) Wingate, Independence,MO; Joey (Tonya) Meyer, Columbia, MO; and Adam (Amy) Meyer, Durant, OK.
Services will be held On Saturday March 19, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church of Boonville, MO. The Reverend Dr Nick Larson officiating. Internment will be at a later date in Fairbury, NE.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church of Boonville or a charity of donor's choice.
