Everett Hayes Bode

Everett Hayes Bode, 76, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005. A graveside service will be 10 am Monday, August 15th at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Everett was born June 18, 1929 in Cass County, IA to George and Christina Bode. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean War. He retired in January, 1991 after 35 years at Missouri Portland Cement Co. (LaFarge Corp) Everett was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Bode; a sister, Brenda Biltoft, and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Laquita Bode; daughter, Sandra Bode; son, Michael Bode both of Independence, MO; son, Stephen Bode and wife Janelle of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Christina and Zachary Bode; sisters, Donna Nyberg of Omaha, NE, Clara Hansen of Lewis, IA; brother, George Bode of Lewis, IA; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Sandra Coulter of Kansas City, MO, and Dorothy Bode of Atlantic, IA.
