Judy Boehm, 71, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, May 16th 2014. A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21st at the IOOF Cemetery, Golden City, MO.
Judy was born June 13, 1942 in Golden City, MO as one of five children to Loyd Weldon and Iva Arlene (Heath) Jacobs. She graduated from the local high school as a National Honors Society Member and Valedictorian. Judy married Neal Bartlett and together they had two children. Later, she remarried to Walter Boehm for a loving and fulfilling 22 years, before his passing. Judy worked for numerous insurance companies including Capsco, ERC, and Forrest T. Jones. Most recently she enjoyed selling antiques at Country Meadows. She and Walter attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church for many years as well as volunteered for Sisters of St. Francis. She loved being with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family remembers her as loving, funny, generous and a sweetheart of a lady.
She is survived by daughter, Cindee Hay (Rusty) of Independence, MO; daughter, Sherri Borgmeyer (John) of Lee’s Summit, MO; stepchildren, Julie Drieling (Gerald), Angela Muirhead (David), Matthew Boehm (Hillary); Robert Boehm (Carola), and David Boehm; grandchildren Ryan Hay (Christie), Troy Hay (Heather), Ross Borgmeyer, Matthew Borgmeyer, and nine step grandchildren; three great grandchildren Kyndall, Zoey, and Karson; brother, Jack Jacobs (Betty); and brother, Johnny Jacobs (Michelle). Judy was preceded in death by brother, Jim Jacobs; sister, Joyce Brueggemann; and her beloved husband. The family encourages contributions to St. Ann’s Parish or Sisters of St. Francis in her memory.
