Anthony C. Bokarae, 69, Sugar Creek, MO passed away Jan. 6 2014.
Funeral Mass will be at noon, Thursday, Jan. 9 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will begin at 10 am before Mass at the church. Anthony was born Sept 27, 1944 in Independence. He was a graduate of St Mary’s High School, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was a Fire builder in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired Colonel from the Jackson County Sherriff’s Office. His hobbies in retirement were fishing and playing the guitar. Anthony’s favorite activity was spending time with his four grandchildren.
Anthony was preceded in death by his brothers Tommy and Michael.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years Lois; son Michael A. Bokarae and wife Amy, Olathe, KS; daughter Denise M. Beach and husband Russell, Sugar Creek, MO; sister Antoinette Stewart, CA; brother Sam Bokarae, Independence, MO; grandchildren Daric, Sophia, and Caden Bokare and Joey Beach.
