Mr. Raymond L. Boles, of Independence, MO passed away on February 22, 2018. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Chapel. Burial with full Military Honors will take place in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Raymond was born in San Diego CA. in 1942 the first of twin bothers. His family moved to Independence in 1947. He graduated from Van High School in 1960. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1963 and served 4 years in the Submarine Service aboard Cashimir Pulaski. Receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy returned to Independence where he met the love of his life Carol Lucas they were married on August 10, 1968 she preceded him in death July 15, 2001. Ray started working for the Bendex Corp 1968 retiring after 35 years from what is now Honeywell. He was active in Boy Scouts as young boy attaining the rank of Eagle, he was also very active as an adult serving as Scoutmaster for 5 years. He also served on the staff of H Roe Bartle as both a boy and an adult. He was also a Sachem in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Ray enjoyed experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with the family.
He is survived by three sons Daniel (Angie) Boles of Lee’s Summit, Michael (Karen) Boles of Independence and Steven (Tamara) Boles both of Lee’s Summit and brother Edward (Barbara) Boles of Covington La. Three grandsons, Morgan, Coulten, Keaten, and one granddaughter Adylen. Preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren Ayden Brayden and Cayden.
